Avocado Toast
Ingredients
1 avocado
1 tsp olive oil
zest and juice of 1/3 lemon
crushed red pepper
garlic salt
honey
tajin
your favorite bread, toasted
Steps
Cut the avocado in half and remove the peel and pit.
Crush one of the halves with lemon zest, lemon juice, and olive oil, and spread it on your bread.
Cut the other half into thin slices and place on top to look fancy schmancy. Drizzle with honey and garnish with garlic salt, crushed red pepper, and tajin if you want more zest.
Variation: best egg sandwich ever
Toast a croissant roll (can do 3 of these with 1 avocado) and put sliced gruyere cheese on one side
Instead of doing the fancy slice thing with the avocados, just crush all ingredients together and distribute it on the other half of the croissant roll
Crack an egg on a hot, buttered pan and put a lid on it to make sure the whites get fully cooked if you are picky like me. Once the film over the yolk turns white, remove the lid and flip the egg. Either remove the egg after a few seconds if you like runny yolks or wait a bit if you like them harder.
Put that egg on your cheese-side croissant to melt it a bit, then enjoy!
